"Western culture has things a little backwards right now. We think that if we had every comfort available to us, we’d be happy. We equate comfort with happiness. And now we’re so comfortable we’re miserable. There’s no struggle in our lives. No sense of adventure. We get in a car, we get in an elevator, it all comes easy. What I’ve found is that I’m never more alive than when I’m pushing and I’m in pain, and I’m struggling for high achievement, and in that struggle I think there’s a magic."
This is a quote from a book by Dean Karnazes, called The Ultra Marathon Man.  Now you may never want to run 350 miles in 80 hours or run a marathon each day for 50 days as Dean did.  You may think that running a marathon to the South Pole in -25° C without snowshoes is not the act of a sane man or woman, but that doesn't mean that you have to settle for anything else than the opportunity to be your very best in your own way every day.
The thing is, it is easy to settle for less than being awesome.  In fact the very notion of being awesome everyday leaves some people feeling rather tired and in need of a lie down!  But being awesome is not about running a marathon each day; it is not about driving yourself to the absolute ragged edge (although like Dean, if it does it for you, then why not?).  It isn't about having to try and be your very best for every minute of the day and sticking to some carefully rehearsed plan to be thin, be slim, be the right shape, be strong, be on time, be careful, be...  Being awesome is about you making the very best of your life.  It is about setting yourself goals that will enhance your life and the lives of those people around you.  it is about achieving a sense of personal wellbeing, and being happy and comfortable with where you are right now, as you go through life.  Being Awesome is about looking at yourself in the mirror before you go to bed each day, and giving your reflection a contented nod because you know that you have had the best day you could have had that day.
At Be Awesome, we support individuals and teams to help them make those personal decisions that help them to go down the path of fulfillment and wellbeing in their lives.  It may be that they want to change things physically.  Perhaps they want to lose a few pounds for the summer; maybe get into that special dress or outfit; they may not be comfortable with their size, or level of personal fitness, and have decided to do something about it.  They may want to achieve a personal goal or accomplish some physical challenge and they need some help and support to do so.
They may want to change things emotionally.  Perhaps they feel that they are in a rut and are not achieving as much as they think they should.  Maybe at a crossroads in their lives and needing some help in mapping out the direction in which they wish to go.   Often people seek help and support as they deal with difficulties in their lives - the loss of a loved one; a relationship breakdown; being made redundant; getting to a certain age and thinking "Is this it then?".  Of course, often our clients are already very happy and optimistic in their lives, but want the help of a professional to enable them to squeeze even more out of that life; in essence, to help them to be awesome.
Ness Byrne is a qualified Personal Fitness trainer and Group Fitness coach.  she has worked with great success with individuals and groups in the UK, helping them to achieve fitness goals and to accomplish physical challenges that they would have thought impossible before starting one of Ness' programmes.
Shaun Byrne is a very experienced Business Perfomance Coach who was, in a former life, a Business Development consultant.  He brings a wealth of knowledge with him about people and how they work and act, how to go about setting and achieving personal goals, and developing individual perfromance.  As a life coach, he knows how to listen to people - and from that, how to shape and offer advice, guidance, support, and encouragement, to enable people to deal with emotional issues and achieve a sense of personal wellbeing, and gain the confidence to do the things they want to do.
Together we offer a unique service - the ability to help people achive both physical and emotional wellbeing as a prerequisite to enabling them to achieve that wonderful state of Being Awesome.
